Dear Evolving Human,
I hope this letter finds you well. Welcome again, to my corner of this glorious universe.
The first time we spoke, I introduced myself in hopes that you would stick around, so we can rise together. What I was not ready for, was how quickly you would embrace my message and connect with me across different platforms. For this and more, I am supremely thankful for the courage to dare.
You see, I have been planning to launch my website for so long and I gave up so many times. Worse, even though I have led training sessions across 30 countries in the last 15 years, I was terrified of launching my first digital course. I mean, I have created many in the past but this was for my brand and the fear of failure, crept in. I was not sure how the Self Series Course, would be received or if anyone would connect with it.
Boy! Was I wrong…
I am learning through the process and meeting people I never dreamt I would be connecting with, just because I decided to go against the ‘voices in my head.’
People often think that what limits us, is the weight of other people’s opinions but this is not always true. Often, we are burdened with our lack of self-belief and courage to go against the grain.
Do you know how hard it is to be a pioneer?
How draining it must feel to convince people of any idea that hasn’t been tried before?
Your mind would play tricks on you until you start asking questions like; ‘who am I, to think I would succeed, where others failed?’
If you are not self-aware enough to track these thoughts as they happen, you may end up talking yourself out of a good idea, just because you are so terrified of your brilliance.
I believe very strongly, that what we must conquer starts from within us. We often think of “village people” and all the externalities that exist to stop our shine. We forget that this includes us. You’re not excluded and until you, acknowledge and release that voice in your head, it will sell a false narrative to you, and you will believe it.
It took me a few years, to realise that if I could convince myself of my genius, then there is nothing that would be impossible for me. The problem was that no one told me how hard it was to look in the mirror and love my reflection. In the past, I questioned extensively my insatiable need to leave the world better than I met it.
“I mean, why can’t I just live the baby girl existence, without worrying too much about an impact-driven life?”
Is this not ‘over-sabi,’ like this?
Most people would walk past a problem but my inner voice, wouldn’t let me be until I was part of the solution. I questioned my desires until they became me. I learned that the hardest enemy to fight is the one within, so I started to meet myself with gentle eyes. I would spend time reflecting on my thoughts and where they come from. The more self-aware I became, the easier it was for me to stand up for what I believe in.
These days, I want to do more of the things that make my soul sing. I recognize that between life and death is an opportunity to truly live and I am taking my chances. I want to birth all the ideas that are buried within me and yes, I want to leave this world better than I met it.
Like me, you might be reflecting on your human condition and unearthing ideas that were once buried. I hope as you do this, you take a notepad with you to capture your dreams on paper or your electronic device.
I want you to reflect on three things you want to accomplish between today and the end of the year. Once you have those goals on paper, I want you to layer them with the things you can start doing now to make them happen. You can do anything really and I am here to hold your hand, in hopes that you will hold mine too. I feel that our world benefits if we help each other grow.
I encourage you to take my courses and share your thoughts with me. I want us to learn from each other but more importantly, I want you to thrive. I have experienced exhaustion and thriving and I know the emotional state that is good for the soul. Our lived experiences expand when we are thriving!
I plan to share all I know with my community so we can truly rock this life and leave a huge dent in this magnificent universe.
